Top 5 Comics (June 27, 2012)

I know I haven't been posting lately, that's because of some stressful stuff going on in my life and just not feeling like writing anything. But anyways here is this weeks top 5 list of comics:

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #11 (IDW): Honestly this is just a good fun comic blending bits from the original comic series and the cartoons that followed. In it the Turtles are trying to rescue Splinter from the Shredder. It's fun. It's exciting. It's damn fine read and you should pick this up if you have any love for the Ninja Turtles at all.

4. FF #19 (Marvel): The kids of the Future Foundation are on safari in Wakanda, and we may be getting a new member to the team. This comic almost seems like an oddity in comics these days with it being mostly about a group of kids having fun. Sure they are super intelligent kids. This issue seems like its going to be a fun one and done issue.

3. The Manhattan Project #4 (Image): Another Johnathan Hickman book for this week, and this time we get the Life and Death of Albert Einstein... or at least the life and death of Albert Einstein in The Manhattan Project. Solid read with interesting concepts. Just look at past post of mine to know I like Johnathan Hickman

2. Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who #2 (IDW): Just buy this to satisfy the raging geek boner that this crossover brings on. Borg & Cybermen working together and it's up to the Doctor and the crew from TNG to save the universe.

1. Batman, Incorporated #2 (DC Comics): I'm taking the summation of this issue from ifanboy "This is the story of a man and a woman fighting over the heart and soul of their child. Unfortunately for the world, the man is BATMAN, the woman is TALIA AL GHUL, and the child is DAMIAN."

Top Five Comics (June 13, 2012)

My top comics for this week are (miniseries edition):

5. The Massive #1 (Dark Horse): "At the end of the world, the story begins." By DMZ writer Brian Wood we get a new post apocalyptic story of the environmental-action trawler Kapital and its search for its sister ship The Massive. As the ships crew and captain face off against pirates, rebels, murderers, and thieves in search for its sister ship.

4. Before Watchmen: Silk Specter #1 (of 4) (DC Comics): Darwyn Cook and Amanda Conner, do I really need to say more? I haven't been looking forward to these Before Watchmen titles, but this one and Before Watchmen: Minutemen are the only one's I really care for. That is mostly for the amazing creative teams attached to them.

3. Fantastic Four #607 (Marvel Comics): The fallout of the Kree-Inhuman War. Find out what happens when the Fantastic Four visit the homeworld of the Kree Empire. What if anything will Black Panther play in this issue? This going to be Johnathan Hickman doing his thing with the Fantastic Four, and I don't have to tell you how much I enjoy that.

2. American Vampire: Lord of Nightmares #1(of 5) (Vertigo/DC Comics): The follow up to the award winning series of American Vampire: Survival of the Fittest. Story by Scott Snyder and phenomenal art by Dustin Nguyen. Check this series out! You are going to dig it!

1. Spider-Men #1(of 5) (Marvel Comics): The first crossover between Peter Parker (Amazing Spider-Man) and Miles Morales (Ultimate Spider-Man). This is bound to be a fun romp of a book.

Will Ferrell Friday (Week 5)

I've been pretty slack on updating the blog this week. Just been pretty busy, had a little vacation & now getting accustomed to my new work schedule. As well when I got back home from my vacation I had a pretty bad fever, and as we all know the only prescription for a fever is more COWBELL, baby! (since blogger isn't allowing me to post the video I want to I'm attaching a link here to it)

Will Ferrell Friday (Week 4)

This week for Will Ferrell Friday we are going back to some classic Will Ferrell as Robert Goulet. So let's start the end off the week off right with The Coconut Bangers Ball: It's a Rap (a little inside, I know).
