Top 5 Comics (May 30, 2012)

My top comics for this week are:

5. Wolverine and the X-Men #11 (Marvel): This is a Avengers Verses X-Men tie-in issue where we continue the story from Cyclopes and his X-Men show up at the Jean Grey School. What members of the school faculty and students will join up with Cyclopes to fight the Avengers. What will happen in the fight between Iceman and the Red Hulk? This title has been one of the more fun and well written X-Men titles these days and that's all thanks to Jason Aaron.

4. Animal Man Annual #1 (DC Comics): The return of the first DC Annuals. This issue should be a good jumping on point for those interested in seeing what will come next with the Rot World storyline from Animal Man and Swamp Thing. This appears to be the first crossing point of the stories of Animal Man (Jeff Lemire) and Swamp Thing (Scott Snyder). Both titles have been telling a similar stories, but from two different view points ( Animal Man with the Red and Swamp Thing with the Green) on taking down the Rot.

3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #10 (IDW): This has been an amazing series that seems to be able to blend the concepts from the original comic and the 80's/90's cartoon to an amazing story point. In this issue we get SHREDDER.

2. FF #18 (Marvel): This issue Johnathan Hickman takes the Future Foundation to Wakanda, and we get a new member brought in. This is the first issue of a new story that brings the FF and the Fantastic Four to Wakanda, which should be interesting.

1. Batman Annual #1 (DC Comics): Court of the Owls continues and Mr. Freeze is introduced. What relation does Mr. Freeze have to the Court of Owls, and will he be key to taking down the Talon?
